Carla lies against me, her tits pressed to my chest. I feel like the luckiest bastard on the planet right now. How the hell did I get this sassy, beautiful woman in my bed? I have no fucking clue, but now that she’s there, I don’t want her to leave. Screw the consequences. She might be a brother’s kid, but I don’t care. She means something to me and I want to keep her in my life.

I trail my fingers up the ink on her arm, skimming over the designs that are as beautiful as she is.

“Who did your art?”

“A tattooist in Temecula. He’s amazing.”

“He?” Jealousy flares, clawing at my gut. The force of it surprises me. I’ve never been a jealous bastard about any other woman in my life, and believe me, there’s been a few.

She rolls her eyes at me before dipping her face back to lean against my chest. “Be careful. Your green-eyed monster is showing.”

Damned fucking right it is. This woman is fast becoming my everything.

“I don’t like the idea of another man touching you.”

She makes a scoffing noise. “You do know I didn’t come to bed with you a blushing virgin, right?”

I resist the urge to put my fingers in my ears and whistle. I do not need to know about her previous bedmates.

“If this is your idea of pillow talk, Kitten, it sucks.”

Carla runs her fingers over my chest, making my body quiver beneath her touch.

“What happens now?” she asks, and the uncertainty in her voice carves a path through my heart. I don’t want her unsure.

“I claim you as my old lady and we ride off into the sunset.”

She smacks my chest. “Be serious.”

“I am being deadly serious.”

Her head lifts and she peers up my body at me, seeking truth in my words. I keep my expression completely serious.

“You’re not playing?”

“Baby, I want you. I can’t deny that. I won’t deny that. Are there obstacles to get around? Yes, but I’m determined to have you, if you want me.”

Her eyes go soft. “I want you.”

I kiss her temple and pull her closer to me. This right here is bliss and it’s the first time in a long time I’ve felt settled with a woman. I’m not a monk. There have been other women in the past, but I never felt a fraction of what I feel for Carla after a short time. I’m falling for her and hard. I love that sassy mouth of hers, the fact she doesn’t let me get away with any shit. I just love her and if I didn’t think she’d freak out about the fact, I’d tell her that, but it’s too soon to say those words yet.

“I don’t want this to end,” she tells me something I’ve been thinking since the start of this road trip.

“Me neither.”

“What happens when we get to the clubhouse?”

“What do you want to happen?” I trace circles on her arm as she snuggles deeper against me.

“I don’t know.”

“You want me, though? You just said so.
